Information Security Manual (ISM)
ASD's control catalogue for Australian government and anyone who wants the same language. Applicability is the work.
The Information Security Manual is issued by ASD. It is a set of guidelines and controls used by Australian government, and widely borrowed by industry that needs to speak the same dialect.
You do not implement every control. You determine applicability, tailor to the system, and record exceptions like an adult.
The ISM is updated. A printed copy from 2019 is an artefact, not a program. Pair it with Essential Eight for the floor and with your risk process for the rest.
