Pharming
Traffic sent to a fake site by tampering, not by a clicked lure. The URL bar can still lie if DNS or the host file does.
Pharming harvests personal information by sending you to a counterfeit site without relying on a phishing link you had to click. Hostile code, poisoned DNS, or a rewritten host file can do the steering.
Use known bookmarks for banking, DNS you control, TLS with attention to certificate warnings, and endpoint controls. If the padlock is there but the domain is wrong, stop.
